Hi experts,

I like to start CCIE security lab training, probably by building a network by myself, using Cisco products. I myself have some different levels of knowledge about Cisco security and other products. What I like to know is, can you guys recommend some good - really good - and up-to-date reference books which I can dive into for the knowledge and experiences needed for passing the CCIE security lab, including the information about what kind of a network by which products I need to build?

My learning style is to owning the best several (not too many) books on the interesting topic and read/digest them thoroughly.

Thanks for your advices!

I have this problem too.

all from ciscopress:

cisco router firewall security

network security troubleshooting

complete vpn configuration guide

NAC vol1 and vol2

Cisco ASA all in one book

i have others, but those are the ones that proved the most useful.

i am using one of the vendor's workbooks for study, and i find that i can do about 75% of the labs with 2 or 3 routers and a pix (loaded w/ 7.2), and a cisco switch.

i've nearly got a complete lab at this point, but i didn't start that way.

Thanks a lot srue! Sorry I like to be even a little more greedy :) Can you post the ISBNs of the books you listed, and, what is that "one of the vendor's workbooks"?
