Can I have a layer 2 + a layer 3 up link between two 6513 cores

We use to have a layer 2 link between Bldg's and everything worked fine. Then we had to do a test on a system between Bldg's that needed to use multicast,so we changed to a layer 3 and gave it a ip. Now the other customers are not happy cause there systems are not working the way they use to.

I could use so advice on this one.

There is not really enough information here to answer your question especially as you don't really say why the other customers are not happy.

One important point. The linnk does not have to be Layer 3 to transport multicast traffic. If the link was L2 it would still carry multicast across to the relevant vlan interface.

Perhaps you could provide some more details as to why you decided to go L3 for multicast.
