Hi All,

I have configured PPPOE configuration in 1700 router. Some times I am getting slow performance issue while accessing the internet application, I have configured half duplex in E0 interface which is connected in internet modem. But I am not sure modem in full or half duplex. When I am configured half duplex I am getting Collection in E0 interface. So I have set full duplex mode that time I am getting CRC and frame errors but performance is better then half duplex. Please any one help me .

Hi thiru,

I'm not surprised at all why you got many collisions when you use HALF DUPLEX on the interface. So Full duplex is a good way to go!.

I'd presume the CRC errors and the frame errors are the unstable signals provided by the modem.

Just try to change the cable first then clear the counters on the interface and see what is going on. If the problem still exist. I'd request the ISP to get involved in.

Hopes this helps

Thot

Hi, my company has many T1 and telco circuits and you can generate CRC error due to a large amount of collisions, as the first post suggested check your cables and make sure there is no noise or other interferance, also if you are getting interface resets you should contact the telco and have them test the line for you. Have a look at the link below they have detailed information on troubleshooting link errors. HTH

Hi Thot,

Thanks a lot, already I have involved the ISP with this issue. And I checked the Cable also. Any way thanks for your information.

Thanks Willams
