Solved: Differences between Catalyst 3524 and 3550-EMI

Hi,

Kindly help enumerate the differences between the Catalyst 3524 and Catalyst 3550 running EMI image.

Someone once said that the SMI or EMI images aren't available for the XL switches. It applies to non-XL switches like, 3550 or 3560.

Is this correct?

Can I use the Catalyst 3524 (Cisco WS-C3524-XL-EN) as part of my CCIE R&S home lab?

Only as a Layer2 switch. No image can provide the ability to 'route' with this switch.
