VPN Client error - “failed to initialize the ipsec driver returned 1”

When attempting to connect VPN client 4.0.1 receives this error:

“failed to initialize the ipsec driver returned 1”

Any ideas how to rectify this? Software has already been uninstalled/reinstalled.

Running on XP.

Appreciate any help! Thanks

Try a different installer to see if that makes a difference (MSI or InstallShield).
