Hi,

I would like to know if there is high traffic on an interface ie) serial inteface, what is the

command to check which is the top talker/ relevant IP that is causing this high utilization on this inteface ?

If you don't have a netflow analyzer server you can use the ip route-cache flow command.

Configure the ip route-cache flow at the specific interface.

Issue the show ip cache flow command.

To see statiscs by protocol ( do not show the ip address ) configure the command ip nbar protocol-discovery on the selected interface and issue de command sh ip nbar protocol-discovery top-n;

The better solution for this is Netflow but simple work around is enable

ip accounting command on the interface you will get the top talkers

If you don't have a netflow analyzer server you can use the ip route-cache flow command.

Configure the ip route-cache flow at the specific interface.

Issue the show ip cache flow command.

To see statiscs by protocol ( do not show the ip address ) configure the command ip nbar protocol-discovery on the selected interface and issue de command sh ip nbar protocol-discovery top-n;
