Need help on SRST issue

Dear Seniors.

We have ccm in HQ and the SRST router in the remote site. Event though Our WAN is up and our ccm is up but the remote site phones are registering with SRST router.why phones are registering with SRST rotuer? what could be the reason. how to troubel shoot. The phones will register with srts when the wan link is down or all the ccm is down but both are up? pls help me

Hi Esa,

Can you check and confirm the below.

1. Is the scenario of this type that once your link went down and the phones got registered with SRST router and when the link came up its not coming up.

2. If you try to manually reboot a phone is it still registers with srst router.

3. lastly, check the TFTP IP reachability from the remote location where the IP Phones are connected.

phones will register with SRST if the keepalives the phone sends are not replied with a keepaliveACK from the primary, secondary or tertiary server. then it goes to it's last option and starts sending keepalives to the SRST router and then it will register.

i would check the connectivity end to end and possibly gather a sniffer trace on both ends to confirm the keepalives are being sent and received
