Hi, I just installed a clean new LMS 3.0 on a dual quad processor server with Win2003 64-bit server. As soon as the install finished I rebooted the server. I then tried to install the Dec07 update since I am aware that this is needed for 64-bit support. However the Ciscoworks deamon would not start and hence the Dec07 update cannot be installed since it is not detecting that the LMS3.0 is already installed. can anyone help pls as I am stuck...

It sounds like the first installation did not complete successfully. I recommend uninstalling, then removing any leftover directories. Then do the following:

* Set the TEMP and TMP environment variables (both global and per-user) to something short like C:\WINDOWS\TEMP.

* If using PAE, disable the /3GB switch in boot.ini.

* Turn off any anti-virus software.

* Login as a local Administrator.

That should be sufficient for LMS 3.0 to get installed. Once that is done, immediately reboot, then install the 3.0.1 update.
