Tunnel Problem

Dear all,

I just got a new Cisco 3560PC-S (8 port) whose installed IOS is 12.2(35r)SE2. I am trying to configure GRE tunnel on it using interface tunnel 1 command... But it is not taking it.. other crypto commands are not running as well.... Can anyone suggest the proper IOS to which when I upgrade, I get the required results? Thanks in advance

Sheeraz,

Are you talking about the Catalyst 3560-8PC? If you are, it's a layer 2 switch, tunnels and Crypto are layer 3 functions, see:-

I think you are trying to configure services that are just not available in the hardware.

Andrew is correct in that as far as i know the 3560 doesn't support these features. Not because it is a layer 2 switch because it isn't only L2 it can support IP routing etc. so it is a fully L3 capable but still it does not include these features.
