Solved: MGCP registration issue without DNS server !

hi all ,

i have at lab CUCM 5.1 and 2821 router iOS 14.4. i tried to register the gateway ob CCM. i dont use domain name becuase we dont have dns server. so in simple i gave hostname to the gateway "voice2" and its exactly match the device domain name configured in CCM "voice2".

the problem , see below the config. CCM address 172.16.10 , 2821 gateway address 172.16.1.15

i'd advise you to read the gateways and gatekeepers book from the CCVP path for a better understanding

the only things that change between a T1 and a E1 are the timeslots, instead of 1-24 it's 1-31 and the voice port is not 0:23 but 0:15

do you happen to have ssh configured? If so, ssh configuration requires a domain name. Verify that "ip domain-name" is not configured on the gateway.

i managed now to register the gateway, but the eendpoint E1 not registired. do i have to do card tyoe to define controller. where is that its not there in docs. just one of the guys here helped me to do so. there is no full document tell u the sequence u should follow to administer E1 PRI on mGCP gateway. for example there is nothing about card type to enable controller command. what about also to configure DSP resources for the E1 channels. i have pVDM_32 what configuration should do on voice card to enable DSP for the PRI line?!.you can find docs to tell u how to configure specefic E1 configutation. but its not organized along with what u need to do on CCM. what is PRI group? and what is PRI slots. as far as i know E1 channels from 1-31 , channels 16 is D-channels , i dont know i hope i could find docs from a to z to configure or what i should first then later to configure ISDN PRI E1 with cisco call manager
