Solved: Data Migration Assistant and phone status

I have a customer who wants to upgrade from CallManager 3.3(5) to 6.1.

As part of the upgrade we will be replacing the MCS servers as they are a few years old.

Obviously we cannot go directly from 3.3(5) to 6.1 so I am planning to install 3.3(5) on the new servers, copy the data from the old system using BARS and then upgrade to 4.2(3).

I will then use Data Migration Assistant to go from 4.2(3) to 6.1.

My question concerns Data Migration Assistant. Does it only generate Device License Units for devices that are actually registered to the 4.2(3) server as opposed to being defined in the database but not registered?

it will create the necessary DLUs for whatever you have currently configured on the server
