Is there a way to make a change to the start-up config and not the running

Config on a 3560

I need to make changes ONLY on the interconnect ports and this needs to be done remotely

I would like to make the changes and set the reboot times

I know if I tftp the file I need the whole config.

I like to do this with partial config if possible

The only way that I know of to change the startup config (other than copy running startup) is to tftp to the startup. And you are correct that tftp to startup requires the complete config. I do not know of any way to selectively change part of the startup config - and I believe that no way exists to selectively change part of the startup config.

So I believe that you only option is to get a copy of the complete startup config, change the elements that you need, and tftp the entire changed config to startup.
