Connected via VPN, Internet speeds are extremely slow

We use an ASA5520 and configured our VPN remote access. Our users experience slow internet access when vpn'd into the network. All other resources are fine. I ran a speed test when connected and i get 400kbits speeeds. When not connected my users get their usual speeds, ex: verizon close to 3megs.

One thing I want to mention is that split tunneling is not an option here since we are bind by our security audit. Has any one experienced this problem before and what options or what light can you shed on this problem.

This is an extremely critical problem for our users as we have many home users.

Your input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

Upgrade the version. It will increase the speeds. The latest version available for ASA is 7.1.2.ED (File name asa712-k8.bin) and the latest version available for ASDM is 5.1.2 (File name asdm512.bin).

Actually we are even at a later version.
