SNMP Link down trap test

Anyone have a good test to run to verify that SNMP Trap message is sent from router if T1 link goes down without actually having to shut it down? 2600 series 12.3x. 6500's show a test snmp command but that does not exist in the 2600 or 2800 I have tried on. Thanks

There is no way to test this other than actually bringing a link down. We have an open enhancement request to add SNMP trap testing capabilities to IOS (CSCsb74381). IT will slowly be integrated into newer versions of IOS. The command will be "test snmp trap".
