Solved: Number of Servers in CM cluster

Hi,

Pls confirm the total number of servers in a Call Manager Cluster is 8 or 9. Is it 1 publisher + 7 Subscribers OR 1 Publisher + 8 Subscribers?

The following guidelines apply to Cisco Unified CM Release 6.x:

â€¢Within a cluster, a maximum of 8 servers can be enabled with the Cisco CallManager Service. Other servers may be used for more dedicated functions such as TFTP, publisher, music on hold, and so forth.

Thanks for the comments.So can I have 1P + 8 Sub + 1 TFTP + 1 MOH ( total 11 servers) in a cluster?

Hi Kirshna,

To add to what Rob has mentioned, you can have 1PUB + 8 SUB in a cluster which can register the IP Phones and do call routing functoinality.

In addition to these servers you can have more servers which would be installed as subscribers, but not doing call routing [phones can't register to these phones]. These additional servers can act as a dedicated TFTP server or Dedicated MoH server i.e. dedicated servers running specific service.

Thus 1+8 limit applies for the call routing servers.

Yes, that configuration would be fine :) The total number of 11 still only includes 8 Call processing servers.
