Problem when start the router

Unanswered Question


When i power up the router, it shows me the message below. May I know why?

loadprog: bad file magic number: 0x0

boot: cannot load "flash:"

is the IOS present in flash. check with command:

>dir flash:

if its present then issue this command:

>boot flash: filename

This should work if the iOs is there in flash.

That means the ios or flash problem. Mostly the IOS.

Try to give the dir flash command and find if there is any ios available in the flash.

Then boot it from rommon mode.

If this does not work then upgrade a new ios.

try to copy the IOS with tftpdnld from rommon (you'll erase the flash after). Then try to download a news IOS image, and upload again on your router.

You have to specify which kind of software you are intrested in: Ip-base, enterprise etc.

Use the Software planner to select you best choice.
