RE: 6509E Switch not able to boot into IOS

hi,

When i restart the switch it will appear the error messages as below:

System Bootstrap, Version 7.1(1)

c6k_sup2 processor with 262144 Kbytes of main memory

Autoboot executing command: "boot bootflash:c6sup22-js-mz.121-27b.E4.bin"

open(): Open Error = -9

loadprog: error - on file open

boot: cannot load "bootflash:c6sup22-js-mz.121-27b.E4.bin"

May i know what solution can overcome this.

Does the file c6sup22-js-mz.121-27b.E4.bin exist in bootflash?

Hi,

This is another info that i capture from the switch while it fail boot into the IOS then it will fall to rommon.

hit control break on the boot sequence. Then do a dir bootflash: to verify if the file you are trying to boot is there. Sometimes this problem occurs when you try to boot a file either in the boot variables, or in the config that is not there.
