Hi,
We have two sites using IPT, one site is installed with CM 5.1.3.1000-12 & on the other site we have 4.1(3). Already ICT - non gatekeeper has been configured, now we need to restrict maximum 4 concurrent calls between these two site & on the site where 5.1 CM is installed we need to restrict the outgoing calls for maximum 10 minnutes when calling international.
If someone has did this before will help me alot.

Haaris

configure the locations between the sites to allow a max of N calls taking the codec you're using in the ICT x N calls and use that as the BW.
there is no way to limit the duration of the calls just for some types, there is a parameter for this but affects ALL call

Thanks a lot...
Is this the only way we can restrick the no of calls between sites - by location?? Secondly as you said how can we restrict all the outgoing calls to 10 min? Does that effect incoming calls also to disconnect after 10 Min?
Appriciate your response.

I'm always surprised when people asks for a time limitation on calls without having a full call accounting system based on credit.
Even if it was possible, nothing prevents to call again after being disconnected.

By limiting the call duration, atleast we discourage our employees to cut shot there unwanted talks & they feel that the call is monitored when it disconnects everytime after a specific period....we have expierienced with our PBX a saving in PSTN bills round about 10%.

Perhaps you can be discouraging long calls, but if you're also cutting executive conversations, that is likely to cause problems.
So the need is more likely, to limit certain type of calls, made from certain phones. Unfortunately by default the cisco IPT doesn't do that.

As Paolo mentions this could be troublesome, maybe you can consider the implementation of FACs so you can have a report of who made calls thru the international route pattern and then you can determine if the user is abusing the phone service you provide them
about limiting the number of calls on the CUCM server itself, yes. locations is the only way to go. if you have gatekeepers then you can do it on the GK config but it also relies on setting the available BW for calls between zones taking into consideration the codec being used
here you have this doc:

I was just exploring the possibilities for Call disconnection in 10 min, cant we configure our Dial-peers or the FXO Ports on the voice Gateway to diconnect accordingly???
as all PSTN calls should be routed through the Voice Gateway.
