ERSPAN on platforms other than 6500/7600?

ERSPAN solves a voice recording issue we see a lot in properly structured campus networks. A lot of Voice recording solutions require SPAN to be configured to replicate traffic to a server. In an IP world with IP Phones this is tricky as you either have lots of voice recorders local to each switch or end up with VLAN trunks everywhere.

ERSPAN is a good workaround for this (however I have not tested it so far) but it seems to only be available on the Catalyst 6500/7600 platform. In a lot of deployments we have Catalyst 3560/3750 switches installed at the edge supporting IP phones and it is here we would like to configure SPAN with the destination being a server in the data centre. Unfortunately the network between them consists of several Layer-3 hops so we can't trunk a RSPAN VLAN back.

Is there anything in the roadmap for ERSPAN on the stackable Catalysts?

Hi Andy

I can confirm that 4500 do not support ERSPAN, I am using a work around RSPAN to next 7600 and from there ERSPAN.
