Hi,
You need to be running minimum CME 4.0(2) version to get the suppot for 7931G IP Phone.
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/requirements/guide/cme402sp.htm
You might be running CME 3.X release as of now.
Upgrade the CME to 4.0(2) at least.

oh, and using the console cable, this has just popped up in reference to this phone:
IPPHONE-6-REG_ALARM: 14: Name=SEP002155041850 Load= SCCP31.8-3-3SR2S Last=CM-closed-TCP

It looks as if your IOS/CME version does not support that phone type. An upgrade may be needed.

12.4(6)XE Cisco Unified CME 4.0(2)
The 7931 keyword was added.
12.4(4)XC4 Cisco Unified CME 4.0(3)
The 7931 keyword was added.

The box is not old, but the IOS can be. You can easily upgrade it having CCO customer-level access.
