Looking for Outdoor Antenna for 3G WWAN Card (2811 ISR)

Unanswered Question

I've been searching for an external (outdoor) antenna solution to use in combination with the Cisco 3G WWAN card. I have two remote sites with MPLS and wish to use the 3G cards as a backup route. The only cellular data provider in the area is Verizon.

Using the Cisco supplied antenna, the radio signals are somewhat weak, in the -105db range. Have not tested the omnidirectional; don't have one to test.

Was wondering if anyone has found an outdoor antenna and cable which provides a fairly decent db boost, say in the 10db+ range.

I have this problem too.

Thanks for the input, but these are Cisco indoor antennas. Already familiar with the link you posted. As I stated in my original post, I'm looking for an outdoor solution.

Check these for outdoor use:

Depending on the distance from teh router to the antenna, you may want to use Andrew Heliax instead of regular coax. 3G frequencies would have a lot of loss over distance, even with good / excellent / awesome grades of coax.

Andrew will also have cellular outdoor antennas ($$$).

Good Luck
