Hi, do anyone know what its the voltage tolerance of the 12 VDC input.

Thanks in advanced,

Pepe

Power options

• 90 - 480 VAC, 47-63 Hz

• Power over Ethernet: 48 VDC, +/-10 percent

• 12 VDC

• 40-90 VAC quasi square wave; Power over Cable (PoC)

Hi Scott, the problem is that we are implementing a Mesh so we are going to power the aironets via solar energy through the 12 vdc input. We want to know wath is the tolerance on this input because the voltage can be variable.

There is no variance listed for the 12V input (as there are ranges for the others), so I'd have to assume it's very small, if there's any.

If you feed this from (solar charged) batteries, you'd need an in-line filter anyway to prevent the charging voltage (~13-15VDC) from hitting the APs.

If you have enough battery behind the panels, they would carry the (dark) load at a nominal 12V, so it shouldn't be an issue.

Avoid the temptation of using something like a deep-cycle marine battery ... bad idea.

Also, don't forget protection devices, they're really important when you got hardware out swinging in the wind.

Good Luck

Scott
