How to copy/backup a directory from router or access point?

Hi,

I need to copy a directory with all subdirectories from an access point (AP)to one of my local machine. The problem is that I can copy only one file at a time. I can't find how to copy the whole directory or how to archive it first on the AP and then copy it as a single file. The command 'scp' seems to not support the recursive copy and the command 'archive' always gives an error:

#archive tar /create tarfile dir_to_archive dir_where_to_archive

%Error opening (No such device)

The system's software ver. is 12.4(10b)JA

Thank you for any help!!

A.
