We are just starting to switch over from the 1010's to the 1131's and are curious about the AP. How many can one put on a POE switch(3560) without an injector? Do people prefer using the injectors over the POE since the 1131's use 12 W? I know they come Lwapp, so when they are installed how does one get them to talk to the WCS without using the DNS? I have a test one and used the Lwapp ap command to just send it to the controller of choice. Is there an easier way?
I agree with Jerome here :) (5 points for your great tips Jerome!) The 3560 PoE can support the 1131 which is great and will save extra configs required on the WLC when using power injectors, plus save some ca$h. Have a look at this very handy tool;
Just an update - The regular 3750s/60s are capable of providing 15.4w on all 24 ports OR the 48-port version can deliver the necessary power to support 24 ports at 15.4W, 48 ports at 7.7W, or any combination in between.
