vty lines full 4507

Help, we have a 4507 and the 5 vty lines are full of idle sessions....

We could open up more lines but I want to just kill off these idle sessions as they are have no timeout. The only way we can get in at the moment is via the console.

Can anyone please advise? i've tried the command disconnect line etc i've also now added an idle timeout of 60 mins but this has had no effect on these open sessions.

Thank in advance

Try clear line X. For example:

Switch#show line

Tty Typ Tx/Rx A Modem Roty AccO AccI Uses Noise Overruns Int

0 CTY - - - - - 0 0 0/0 -

* 1 VTY - - - - - 788 0 0/0 -

* 2 VTY - - - - - 117 0 0/0 -

3 VTY - - - - - 36 0 0/0 -

4 VTY - - - - - 19 0 0/0 -

5 VTY - - - - - 0 0 0/0 -

Switch#clear line 2

[confirm]

[OK]

That should free up the other VTYs.
