hi every body!

Can any body tell me two fast ethernet ports, set to half duplex, be used for trunk?

Yes of course. Trunk encapsulation has nothing to do with the port duplex-settings.

But why do u want to use that. This would significantly degrade the network performance while running the trunk links which will be carrying a huge traffic across the half-duplex port.

Hi Sarah

AFAIK the ports have to be running in full duplex mode for a trunk to form. This is why trunks cannnot be configured on 1900 switches which only have 10mbps/half duplex ports.
