Edison.

Thanks for your reply,

what about the physical connectivity between 7206 and 3550 ?

Thanks in advance

Yes, physical connectivity can be done:

For instance in the 3550:

switch(config)#vlan 72 name test

switch(config)#exit

switch(config)#interface vlan 72

switch(config-if)#ip address 192.168.1.2 255.255.255.0

switch(config)#interface fx/x

switch(config-if)#description port connecting to 7206

switch(config-if)#switchport mode access

switch(config-if)#switchport access vlan 72

On the router:

router(config)#interface fx/x

router(config-if)#ip address 192.168.1.1 255.255.255.0

You should be able to ping the switch from the router and vice-versa.

hi edison,

Thanks , if i am not wrong , sfp modul for 7206 is available so LC To SC i can connect to my 3550 switch.

still confused about the VLAN config. for 7206 . if u have any URL to study can you please send me that.

Thanks in Advance

You don't configure Vlans in the 7206. You are using a routed port which connects directly to the 3550.

The 7206 should have a copper port, does it not? You only have a fiber port in the 7206? That's very strange.
