Dear Netpro's,

I wish to get e-mail alerts whenever an uplink utilisation goes above 60%.

How can we do this on LMS2.6

with thanks

First, you will need to adjust your utilization threshold to 60% for the class of interface/port you're trying to manage. This is done under DFM > Configuration > Polling and Thresholds > Managing Thresholds. Choose your interface/port type under DFM > System Defined Groups (e.g. Interfaces Group > 10/100 MB Ethernet) and click Edit. Adjust the Utilization Threshold to 60, then click OK. Finally, go to Apply Changes, and apply the changes.

To send an email when such an event is generated, go to DFM > Notification Services > Notification Group, and define a new Notification Group. Only check the boxes for events (not alerts). If the ONLY event you care about is this HighUtilization event, you can customize an Event Set under Notification Services > Event Sets. Once you have an Event Set customized, you can select it in your Notification Group.

Finally, go to DFM > Notification Services > E-Mail Subscription, and create a new subscription using the previously defined Notification Group.
