No Busy Tone or Announcement Message Received when Placing VoIP Outbound Ca

hi folks,

i have two callmanagers and we are using h.323 gateways with gatekeeper.

the calls from one cisco phone registered to callmanager1 to outside mobile phone doesn't play any announcement when the mobile is not available.

while if i use the phone registered to other callmanager2 then it plays.

so what i interpret is that there are some settings in the callmanager itself.

i think that the phone tries to play some message but it gets disconnected immediately.

i have found one link also from cisco.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk652/tk653/technologies_tech_note09186a0080111b58.shtml#voipout

but this one tells about changes in gateway. which is fine at my side.

your help will be appreciated.

Hi Sandeep,

What else is different or unique about the two setups?

1. Do both calls go out the the same or different gateways/gatekeepers?

2. If different gateways, are they running the same or different IOS versions?

3. Are both CallManagers running the same version of software?

4. Is the IP phone caller simply hearing silence before the call is disconnected? Do they hear reorder, busy or other tones?

Regards,

Michael.

Thanks for your reply.

The setup is one but the callmanagers are different the versions of the CCM are also same 4.1(3).

They are going through the same gateway its AS5350 and the version is 12.4.

i suspect something in CCM

The caller just hears a small sound (less than a sec ) and sometimes not even that.

Sandeep,

This link describes some Service Parameters that come into play with regards to progress tones. Verify that these match on both Callmanagers.

Hi Michael,

the only difference i can found in both the callmanagers is the "h225 T310 Timer" its set to 12000 in the working one.

In the callmanager where its not working its the default value of 60000.

but m not sure it will make any difference.

Reg,

Is that 12000 or 120000? You could try adjusting the value on the one that is not working to a value higher than the default. This link indicates that the parameter may affect failure or success of calls to long distance mobile destinations.
