Sending calls out remote router

I have CUCM 6.1 with a main office and a branch office with gateway's in each location. I would like to be able if a call for example from the main office is within the area code of the remote office that we can send the call out that router. I was wondering the best way to do this.

configure the route patterns to use the GWs, that's toll bypass and it's all based on route patterns and to which GW each call needs to be routed

configure 1 route pattern for main office when dialing that area code and route it to that GW
