enabling cef on 1710 router

When you able cef globally is there any downtime? Also, I'm going to enable this to try and fix the input drops that are occuring on the fast ethernet interface. Any other suggestions to correct this issue? Thanks.

I would not expect any down time or service interruption when you enable CEF. And I agree that enabling CEF is a good thing to do.

What would lead you to believe that packets were being dropped due to your current choice of switching path?


I'm not suggesting you shouldn't make the change for other reasons though.
