I'm planning to appear for CCIE(350-001) written exam to recertify my CCNA & CCNP cert.I read on Cisco web about beta exam form, but not having much info. Can anyone of you give me sufficient info to proceed further?
- As per cisco site, we need to appear for beta within beta period. whats this period? Is it that period before expire your last cert? But CCIE doesn't have any requirement for cert.. Please clear it.
- How long that exam will be valid to appear for lab exam?
- Is there any differance( means difficulty level) in between beta & written exam?
When Cisco decides to update an exam with new material, they put out a beta version - typically for just a month or so - in order to fine tune the questions and work out problems. Since 350-001 was just updated around June or July of last year, we shouldn't expect to see another beta for another year or two.
Bottom line is that if you are facing recertification, you won't be able to wait until the next beta. Also, because of the long reveiw period involved with sitting beta versions, your other certs may all have expired before you find out the results. If they are dissappointing (they often are since you really don't know exactly how to prepare for so much unknown material), then you must start over with your CCNA. NOT fun!
Also, if I may suggest, please give yourself some time - don't wait until the week your certifications are going to expire. This exam is very challenging for many reasons and not everybody passes on the first attempt.
