Can't configured wrr-queue on the EtherSwitch module

Hi all


My customer has been using Etherswitch module as layer two for their WAN links.

I know there is a limitation for ESW

where you can't applied the Service policy out to the fastethernet ports.

so the only way we can do it is through the layer queueing.

wrr-queue as guided in this example

Router1(config)#wrr-queue cos-map 2 2

Router1(config)#wrr-queue cos-map 3 3 4

Router1(config)#wrr-queue cos-map 4 5 6 7

I have tried it on the customer's router

however it says "not configurable on slot 0"

if it is not configurable how do we can achieve voice qos on the ESW module ?

Can anyone tell me what kind of QoS support is available on the HWICD-9-ESW? I see that the card supports 802.1Q trunking. There is also reference to prioritization based on

frames at the front of the single hardware queue?


ANSWER to the above:


802.1p is supported on HWIC Ethernet Switch module however cos to tos mapping is not supported. This also means that all the priority set by cos value will remain on layer2

only.


And also the per-port queuing is done by hardware, user is not able to change the queuing threshold by using the " wrr-queue cos-map" command like what they do on catalyst switch .



Even though HWIC Ethernet switch module does not allow wrr-queue cos-map changes, you still could see the QoS setting.


Below is the example output.

Otherwise , you may want to consider using the HWIC-2FE card - this is a full layer 3 device so it will allow normal QOS features to be configued -
