I went to Phone Tracking>Lan Switches

and defined every switch there.

I went to Phone Tracking > SNMP Settings and defined the SNMP string as well as the Subnet range.

I check the Release notes for CER 2.0.3

this is the OID of the swtich 1.2.6.1.4.1.9.1.614 and on the release notes says that the minimum IOS is Cisco IOS 12.2(20)SE or higher

please let me know, because is failing on 99% of my switches

I think you are polling your switches, the problem is that you defined your subnets that included your phones. So CER is going out and requesting and SNMP read from every single phone in the defined subnet.

Only define your switches and the string per switch and see if that works.

Also, your phones maybe queried on the switches, but you do not have a connection to callmanager working. CER probably is not downloading the phone information from the AXL database (if using CUCM 6.x, etc)

CER will link the "phones" database from CUCM and the "SNMP" queries from the switches and present them into the CER GUI for searching.

I haven't defined any subnets yet.

CER is talking to CCM (4.1(3)) because the CTI ports are registered with CER on callmanager and if I go to Phone Tracking>Cisco Unified Communications Manager, select the publisher and then click on Cisco Unified Callmanager List, the 2 servers in my cluster shows up.

The Event viewer has the same error. Do you think we need to upgrade the IOS ?

If you go to phone tracking, can you see the phones from CUCM?

Pretty much all of the phones shows up as Unalocated Phones.

Ok, so it is then the SNMP to your switch.

Try setting your read only PW to something simple and see it works. Possibly there is some thing wrong with RO password on the switch and CER can not read.

If it still does not work, either a bug or IOS upgrade is in order.

You know what, something weird happen, I change the snmp community string on CER, and without even changing the string on the switches I was able to discover like 5 of them

I don't know what's going on

I am going to change the community string and that might solve my issue
