"i have switch 6500 and 4500 can i make 4500 backup for 6500 as core switch??"

It would depend on the actual hardware components of both the 6500 and the 4500, and how they are configured and used. (NB: depending on actual hardware components, configuration and usage, a particular 4500 could be a "better" core switch than a particular 6500.)

so i aske if 4500 and 6500 support that or not? also why 4500 better than 6500?

Hassan

The answer is it depends.

Yes you could connect the 2 switches via a L2 trunk and run HSRP between the 2 switches. If one of the switches went down the HSRP active gateway would move to the other switch.

But and it is a big but, it really depends on what you are using your 6500 for. If you have for example a service module such as the FWSM then clearly the 4500 cannot act as a backup for this. And because the 6500 provides quite a bit more functionality than the 4500 without knowing exactly what you are using it for it is difficult to give a yes or no answer.
