3750G-S12 doesn't see Nortel 8600.

Any ideas as to why a 3750G-S12-S running 12.2(35)SE5 and using GLC-LH-SM SPF modules (dot1q trunking, though that shouldn't be relevant) won't recognize (interface is down/down) that an interface is connected to a Nortel 8600, even though the Nortel interface is up/up? To test the fiber patch cable and the SPF, I plugged them into a 2960G-8TC-l running 12.2(44)SE1 and the link to the nortel came up. I tried connecting to a Nortel BPS2000, and the results were the same: connectivity with the 2960, none with the 3750, but the interface on the BPS2000 was up/up.

Any ideas?

Try changing speed negotiation

interface xxx

speed nonegotiate

and re-shut the port.
