Trunk capacity

Was curious to know, how to determine the trunk capacity of a switch ? Is there any cisco recommendation for this.

Trunk capacity??? It depends on the type of ports you have in terms of bandwidth capacity. It depends on switch model numbers in terms on supports vlans to be carrid over the trunk links. Like some of the switches support 4K vlans, some 1K vlans, some 256 vlans.. etc...

If you want to know if the interface on the siwtch supports trunk and which encapsulation mode use -

show interface capabilities

Switch# show interfaces gigabitethernet0/2 capabilities
