Router 2611XM only starts at second bootup

Hi All,

One of my routers is not starting up after switched on except i switch off and then back on. Any help to resolve this please?.

Secondly, (another router 3640)i'm upgrading the router with a new IOS using XMODEM but unfortunately it always breaks up along the way with error resulting "Transfer canceled by remote system" Any help on this too?.

Hence have used the same method to upgrade all other routers in order to be able to run some advanced protocols ....like MPLS.

1st. Router not starting up.

what are the led indication or is it that its powered off.

Did you try to console to the router ?

If yes do you have sh tech support ?

This happens if the cpu utilz is high mostly. It can also be a bug in the ios or a hardware problem. I would suggest you to switch off the router remove all the card and insert it back and monitor if this happens again.

2"Transfer canceled by remote system"

Which tftp server are u using ? is it cisco. Then please try with diffrent one.

This can be caused if the older ios is not del from the flash.

You may need to del the old ios.

It can also be possible that the flash does not have enough flash.

if possible please paste the error and also the dir flash.
