BTS 10200 & PacketCable 1.0/1.5

Hi,

I have been given a task to verify BTS and PackeCable Compatibility.

This is the first time I have ever heard about PacketCable.

Did some search on cisco.com and came to know that its used for provisioning [broadly speaking].

My task is to figure out if BTS 10200 is PacketCable 1.0 and PacketCable 1.5 compatible. I found that its PacketCable 1.0 compatible and another document depecting the limitation on CMS Subscriber Provisioning "The scope of the feature is limited to subscriber provisioning in a PacketCable 1.5 network"

If at all BTS is compatible with PacketCable 1.0/1.5 -

1) When the server is configured in the PacketCable 1.0 mode, will it service a PacketCable 1.5 compatible CPE device( MTA) ?

2) When the server is configured in the PacketCable 1.5 mode, will it service a PacketCable 1.0 Compatible CPE device( MTA) ?

-> Sushil

I have this problem too.

Packetcable specifications cover many areas including provisioning, audio servers, signaling, pstn interconnect, event messaging, electronic surveillance, security, etc. The BTS supports both PC1.0, 1.5 and PCMM as defined here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/voice_ip_comm/bts/5.0/packetcable/guide/pktcb50.html#wp39661

The Packetcable specs. can be viewed here:

http://www.packetcable.com/specifications/specifications15.html

BACC (Broadband Access Center for Cable) in conjunction with CNR (Cisco Network Registrar) is used to provision the CM and MTAs.

The BTS can be provisioned using the SOAP interface as described in the above 5.0 url.
