Integration between CME and CM (to support IPCCX)

Hello,

Ive got a few questions about a possible future scenario, to add ipccx capabilites to our deployment using cm as call control agent:

-> how can we use our actual features of H.450 (cme only deployment) when interacting with call manager? is actually call manager supporting h.450?

-> all our calls between cme's are g729. will this be a problem talking with the agents in ipccx?

thanks,

met

Met,

-> CME and CUCM can be integrated as descibed here:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/srnd/design/guide/intcmecm.html

CallManager does not support H.450 for supplementary services. The good news is that you can insert an IP-to_IP (CUBE) gateway in the call path to provide the interworking between the CME that supports it and the CUCM that doesn't:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/srnd/design/guide/intcmecm.html#wp1072435

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/voicesw/ps6790/gatecont/ps5640/product_data_sheet09186a00801da698.html

-> If the IPCCX requires G.711, then just provide the CTI Route Points and CTI ports access to transcoder resources to support calls that may come in using G.729.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Michael.

So, just to be sure, there isnt any new feature available for CUCM to support H.450?

Thanks

Met.

Ok, for sure it wont support. but if i have 7 sites with CME and wish to deploy a location with CUCM in a wan cluster (two new locations), where to deploy the CUBEs, how many, and how to dimension it? (what will i really gain for deploying the cubes)

thanks,
