csim does not work

Hi everybody. Thanks in advance for your help.

I am having problems with my router. The "csim start num" command does not work in it.

I am attaching the output from that command:

csim start 1584

csim: called number = 1584, loop count = 1 ping count = 0

csim err:csim_do_test invalid major major(16) minor(0)

csim: loop = 1, failed = 0

csim: call attempted = 1, setup failed = 0, tone failed = 0

As you can see, i got an error message, and the phone does not ring.

Normal telephone calls from the remote sides to the phone number 1584 work properly. Only the test does not work.

Does anybody know how can i solve it in my router?

The router is:

Hello Damaso,

If you have the output of 'show dialplan number 1584', as well as the pertinent dial-peer configurations could you post those here?

Regards,

Michael.

Thanks Michael.

Of course. Follows the output:

As i mentioned before, everything is working properly but the "csim start ..." command does not work for any number. I put the telephone number 1584 (a local telephone number)only as an example. But it happens for any configured number in the network (local or remote). The voice communications is working properly. The problem is I can not test via this command.

Thanks again for your help.

Best regards.

Hi Damaso,

Thanks for the information. Just some follow-up questions to hopefully shed some clarifying light on why csim is failing:

- dial-peer 1000 is configured to send calls out of port 1/1:0. Is that the expected intent with the csim test?

- what does the complete topology here look like? Where is phone 1584 in this scenario. Is it an IP phone or an analog phone?

Thanks,

Michael.

Hello again Michael:

question #1: Yes.

Question #2: I will try to describe it:

- The router where i am trying to run the test from is equipped with a E1 connected to a PBX. Behind this PBX is the subscriber 1584 (port 1/1:0)

- Via interface Gi0/0, this router is connected to the internal network. Through other devices, the network connects to several places in different points in the country. Via MPLS.

- In some other sites we have the same local topology: a router connected to a PBX's via a E1 connection

The tepephone network is working normally. Users can set up telephone conversations with any other users in the network.

Also, I can run the test from some other routers to any subscriber without any problem. Only I have the problem in this router. Also, if i run the test from another router in the network, to the same subscriber 1584, the subset rings.

I hope this answer your question.

Thanks for your help Michael.

Best regards

Hi Damaso,

Sounds like you may be running into a defect on this particular gateway. Is the version of IOS on it different or similar to the one on the gateways that work?

Could you send a test call with the csim command while running these two debugs - debug voip ccapi inout and debug vpm signal?

Then while still running these two debugs, send a successful network call to the same number. Post the output of these two tests here.

Thanks,

Michael.
