I am trying to access my internal network ftp from the outside WAN ip of my 851w from the internal network. When I try to use the WAN ip to access the ftp internally it fails. Is there a way to create a loopback to go out and back into the network?

Thanks in advance.

you can use static one to one NAT. Or policy based routing however your 851 wont support PBR so try searching for NAT congiguration suited for your topology..

Steveo is right you would need a static one to one nat to do so if you do not have a public ip address for the internal LAN ftp server.

if possible please paste the configs.

Wow, the support is excellent here. Thanks for the immediate assistance.

I don't understand why my cheap linksys can do this in out in routing with no problems. The 851 is a much better more reliable product.

Basically what I am trying to do is have users connect with the wan IP to access internal resources instead of having to use the internal IP to connect. Does that help?
