deploying a SIP trunk on CM 4.1.3 sr6

i dont see that theres too much to it..is there a need for creating MTP on the router and creating the resource on CM?

handoff being delivered via single MPLS T1 from Paetec.

?should i be able to ping from call manager to the telco's SIP server?

i can get to the hop right before but not to the actual server.

Thanks

Basically inbound CVP calls, transferred to agent can be done through SIP trunks without MTP, agent consult transfer to CVP will need MTP. If you configure MTP on the router, the RTP stream goes directly to the phones.

When IP phone dials a set of digits, it does not know where the call will be routed to. It's only after DA routes the call to SIP Trunk, then does SIP Trunk allocates a MTP. The signaling cannot be set via the MTP prior to call hitting the SIP Trunk since the IP phone does not know when the call is initiated that a MTP is needed.
