power module denied power on module 7 on a 6509

We have installed a 6509 and module 7 and 8 are being denied power. Any ideas why we are bieng denied power.

Something that will get you by until you get bigger power supplies is to run the existing power supplies in combined mode. Unfortunately you will lose your power supply redundancy. Here is the command to activate it.

"power redundancy-mode combined"

You only have 5.22 Amps available but each WS-X6748-GE-TX module needs 7.00 Amps @ 42V. See attached release notes - do a search for WS-X6748-GE-TX.

So you will need to upgrade your power supplies.

How do you upgrade a power supply? Replace it?

Yes. From the same link here are the available power supplies. Make sure you have an IOS that will support them. You should be okay.
