Solved: voice channel encapsulation

Hi,

I config the T1 cct (23B channels). what is the encapsulation setting? HDLC or PPP. I test both of them are working. which on is better?

Hi,

it doesn't make any difference. Encapsulation is only used for data and does not apply to voice.

Hi

it depends mostly on your requirement out there . if you are connecting to a non cisco box in the remote end do make use of ppp as encapsulation.

Also PPP encapsulation provides the option of bundling multiple links which you may require in future.

With HDLC u dont have the option of doing bundling multiple links and need to operate with single individual links..

Hi,

The T1 is ISDN PRI. Those channels are b channels, for voice. Is it hdlc better for connect to another AS5400?
