Hello, just starting out toward CCNP/SP

So that means starting at the beginning, CCNA. I've seen some rigs on ebay, like this one:

I like to do hands on as well as bookwork, and am wondering whether this is truly a worthwhile kit/investment. Any flaws that may be pointed out in it? (other than the fact I'll have to get a rack locally to mount the equipment in, which is logical considering rack weight)

Comments or suggestions from some you more experience people appreciated!

I have this problem too.

Wendell Odem did a good series on CCNP home labs at Network World that you should check out.

Looking at the link that you gave, I would not go with that. You will be limited with the 2924 switches and 2610 routers.

Read Wendell's blog series, but I would go with a combo of 2610XM and 3640 routers coupled with 2950 series switches. They will allow you to cover a majority of CCNP topics while keeping costs down.

I guess another query would be about traffic generators, firewall configuration, analyzers, simulators, et al, as that kit had them.
