I have 2 3825 routers connected by a 30meg fiber link. I am having intermittent congestion problems and need some suggestions.

You could increase the bandwidth between the two routers or implement QoS. With QoS, you must remember that when you give bandwidth resource to one application, you're taking it away from another.

I hope that helps.

If not already doing so, try GTS at 30 Mbps.

E.g. (NB: syntax may be incorrect)

FastEthernet #

shaper 30000 (I think it's Kbps)

Or try hiearchal CBWFQ.

E.g. (NB: syntax may be incorrect)

policy-map CBWFQ

class class-default

shaper 30000

FastEthernet #

service-policy output CBWFQ
