All,
I'll really appreciate an urgent help. I have a 3750G that is receiving about 200Mbps of multicast data in 200 groups.
Data gets routed to a number of vlans and to PIM-Sparse tree.
The problem is that We have 40-90% CPU utilization, main consumer is "IP Input" process which is taking 30-40%.
I have worked through a officially suggested CPU usage troubleshooting guide - but debugging showed nothing odd.
Please advise.
Also, about 3750 architecture. Is it really, capable of MDS or CEF ?
Thanks in advance.
HTH,
Alex.

I have seen issues previously with Multicast traffic being punted to the CPU when the TTL bit was set to 1. Do you know how the multicast traffic is appearing? It might be worth putting a sniffer on and looking at the IP header of some of the multicast packets and seeing what the TTL is when it hits the router.
