Hi all, I have a engineer with me, we are trying to get the cisco 1240 ap to get a dhcp address from the 4402 controller, but it is not working, we have set a dhcp scope on the controller and assigned it to the ap manager interface but it does not work, can anyone help?

Is the WLC in layer 2 or layer 3 mode?

Hello Carl,
in our network the WLC works at layer 2 and the APs are on vlans that are defined on the supervisor.
the scopes and the dhcp option for APs are defined on the infrastructure DHCP servers.
I would suggest you to do the same if this applies to your scenario: put the usual ip helper address on vlan x1 ... xn that are the management vlans of the APs on the DHCP servers define scopes for the x1 ... xn vlans with the dhcp option to specify the ip address of the WLCs
hope to help
Giuseppe
