Fixup protocol command enables you to make changes in the default port assignments on the PIX firewall.Say ftp by default listens on port 21.Port assignment can be modified to make ftp listen on other user desired ports.

show fixup command is used to check the current value assignments in PIX.

Lets say u want to have ftp listen on port 4355.This is done by the following.

fixup protocol ftp 4355

NOte here that fixup command doesnt mean that it will change the standard ports for ftp.

wat this will do is after this command PIX will watch/listen for ftp traffic on ports 21 & 4355.

Hope this clears u.

Pls rate/mark if this helps!!!
